The Cagayan State University Library was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Outreach Program of University of the Philippines Diliman, College of Engineering Library (UPD-CEL) which primarily aimed to help disaster-affected libraries recover that had suffered damages from last year’s typhoon Lawin.

The UPD-CEL has formally turned-over the reference materials, computers, AVRs and a printer last June 1-2, 2017 at the University Library of the Cagayan State University (CSU) - Andrews Campus. The books were gathered from various book suppliers while the computers were acquired thru the proceeds of the two Fun-Run activities themed as the ?COEXIST: Help Rebuild Libraries and Communities Fun Run”, which intends to help rebuild libraries in the country which were affected by natural disasters.

Moreover, the CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mariden Ventura-Cauilan and the University Librarian, Mr. Ronaldo P. Sumait together with the UPD-CEL Director, Ms. Sharon Marie Esposo signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which transpired right after the turn-over ceremony, to further strengthen the partnership of the two institutions.

To ensure the smooth flow of the said endeavor, the Library Personnel, Ms. Beverly T. Lim, Ms. Marilou B. Gollayan, Ms. Karen M. Marcos, Ms. Annette Pamittan, Ms. Marichu C. Pulanco, Mr. John Lee Santiago and Ms. Wilma Taguibao; the College of Teacher Education (CTE) Librarian, Mr. John Paul Badajos, and the Library Chair of CTE, Mr. Christopher Lord T. Tulauan, served as facilitators during the turn-over ceremony.
